Wordpress is an ecommerce platform that enables you to build a successful online business & website. Once you create your Wordpress account you can begin setting up product catalogues & menus and start selling online.
The GetSwift integration with Wordpress (through WooCommerce) now helps you not only process orders for delivery on your Wordpress account but now allows those orders to be sent instantly to your GetSwift account so you can start dispatching, tracking and managing the deliveries to be fulfilled out in the field!
To get started with your WordPress/WooCommerce integration, follow our simple 5 minutes WooCommerce Quick Start Guide below, and download the attached WooCommerce Plugin below.
Create Account
- Create an account with WordPress in addition to your GetSwift account
- Once you've setup your WordPress account follow the next steps to ensure that your WordPress orders are being sent to GetSwift
Generate you GetSwift API Key
- Navigate to the Integrations page within GetSwift
- Click Generate an API Key
- Select ‘API Key Active’
- Press Update at the bottom of the page
Upload the GetSwift Plugin to your WordPress / WooCommerce site
- Download the GetSwift WooCommerce Plugin to your computer (link at bottom to download Plugin)
- Login to your WordPress account and navigate to Tools → Plugins
- Upload the GetSwift Plugin: click "Add New" → "Upload Plugin" → "Choose File" → Select File → "Install Now"
Activate the GetSwift Plugin
- Activate the GetSwift Plugin by pushing "Activate Plugin"
Checking Activation of WooCommerce Plugin
- The WooCommerce Plugin will need to be installed for the GetSwift plugin to function
- To Install: hit the Activate button after it has been installed

Configuring WooCommerce Settings
- Click on "WooCommerce" → "Settings"→ "Shipping"→ "GetSwift"
- Add your API Key (from GetSwift)
- Pickup Address in Checkout: this is used if you allow your customers to create the pickup and drop off addresses
- Pickup Settings: this is used if your Pickup Location is permanent (orders originate from the same location). You will need to fill out the Address in the "Pickup Settings"
- Default Vendor: Add your Vendor name
- GetSwift Url: https://app.getswift.co/api/v2/deliveries
Configure Settings: timezone
- Click on Settings in the Main menu on the left and setup the correct timezone for your region
Configuring WordPress Settings
After successful installation and setup of Getswift wordpress plugin, there are also a few steps to follow in order to make everything work. After setup, these instructions should be followed:
Create or edit existing users that are meant to be vendors. Go to users on the left side menu and click edit.
Change the role to vendor.
Scroll all the way down to vendor section and set requested fields.
After that go to product, scroll all the way down and set desired vendor
And that’s it. Once all of this set, when you sell your product, job should automatically be created on your Getswift profile.
Tips and Tricks:
- Billing Address: is the terminology used to describe the drop-off address
- Currency: The Plugin is currently only available with a currency of USD. If you need another currency, you're not out of luck! Try connecting via Zaper.
- Sending a Test Order: While setting up the WooCommerce account, if you want to send test orders, make sure switch the "Cash on Delivery" toggle so its active
- Click on "WooCommerce" → "Settings" → "Payments" → "Cash on Delivery" → "Save Changes"
